O AUMENTO DA SÍFILIS ADQUIRIDA NO IDOSO

Resumo

Objetivo: levantar dados de Sífilis Adquirida em idosos e discutir a importância da estratificação por idade, para realização de prevenção de demência senil por Sífilis na fase terciária. Metodologia: quantitativa descritiva, através de fonte secundária, dos Boletins Epidemiológicos do Estado de São Paulo e Nacional na população idosa. Resultados: observa-se um aumento no número de casos de Sífilis Adquirida na população idosa, grande parte na região Sudeste. Os Boletins Epidemiológicos não fornecem informações estratificadas dos idosos, não permitindo identificar esta faixa etária, criando barreiras para a implantação de ações de prevenção. Conclusão: a infecção por Sífilis Adquirida é crescente nesta população com prevalência no sexo masculino, sendo de grande importância, discutir e promover ações preventivas a fim de identificar os casos de demência por Sífilis Adquirida em sua fase terciária.

INCREASED SYPHILIS ACQUIRED IN ELDERLY POPULATION

Objective: collect data on Syphilis Acquired in the elderly and discuss the importance of age stratification for the prevention of senile Syphilis dementia in the tertiary phase. Methodology: quantitative descriptive, through secondary source, of the Epidemiological Bulletins of the State of São Paulo and National in the elderly population. Results: there was an increase in the number of cases of Syphilis Acquired in the elderly population, mostly in the Southeastern region. The Epidemiological Bulletins do not provide stratified information on the elderly, not allowing the identification of this age group, creating barriers for the implementation of preventive actions. Conclusion: Acquired Syphilis infection is increasing in this population with prevalence in males, and it is of great importance to discuss and promote preventive actions in order to identify the cases of dementia by Acquired Syphilis in its tertiary phase.
